Before the lecture commenced, we were given a plant tour to see the overview of how an office is being run. A representative from PwC, that was our guide briefly explained what the decorations signify, how each department works, and what was their corporate responsibility and etc.
In the midst of touring, a humble-looking individual named Johan Raslan welcomed us. Little did we know, he is actually PwC’s Chairman who bears a Datukship and is a well-known person in the corporate world. We had the honours of meeting him. He was really warm and friendly and he definitely seemed like the ideal boss.
And so the tour resumed. We visited the meeting rooms, the library, the cafeteria and several other working spots. Mind you, they don’t look like typical office you always see on tv every time. The whole ambiance was so relaxed, calm, environmental friendly and motivational I forgot it’s actually an office.
After a hearty meal, we were ushered into the conference room. Two speakers then introduced themselves as Stephanie Caunter and Jimmy Lim. Stephanie happens to be Marion Caunter's elder sister! I not will bore you with the contents of the lecture but it's basically about how to market your product and all things relevant to it. At the end of the talk, each school were requested to conduct a 5 minutes presentation on our products. The best presentation will be awarded a big mystery prize.
Some schools rocked, the others all reeked. Unfortunately, we've fallen under the 'reek' catogery. Initially, we wanted to go first but luck wasn't on our side as we weren't picked when we raised our hands. By the time we were called, we didn't stutter or felt jittery but inspiration melt away. Oh wells, atleast we experienced something.
So want to know what was the so-called 'big' mystery prize? It was 5 tickets to One In A Million's grand finale! We missed a very good opportunity but.. you cannot undo what's been done. The workshop ended with a group photo of everyone involved. Though it was a short event, we were quite sad to be leaving but happy to be apart of this workshop. We all agreed that it was indeed memorable day.
